Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of WorldCrown48 ("WC48", "we", "the Service"), a global fan-voting platform. By signing up or using the Service, the user ("Voter", "organizer", "member", or collectively "user") agrees to these Terms.

These Terms apply alongside the Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy. Where they conflict, the interpretation most favorable to the user applies.

WC48 is a global web platform where users vote for and support the people, characters, or works they love ("Contestants") through 1-vs-1 Matches and round-style Tournaments.

• WC48 is a service that visualizes fan voting; it is unrelated to outcome prediction, betting, or gambling
• WC48 is not affiliated with FIFA®, the IOC, or any sports body or media company
• WC48 is not directly tied to the results of real-world matches or seasons

• Minimum age: Users must be 14 years or older (Korean Network Act + COPPA standard)
• Identity: Users must provide accurate information during sign-up and may not impersonate others
• Account security: Users are responsible for managing their passwords. Unauthorized use must be reported immediately to hello@worldcrown48.com
• Multi-accounts: Multi-accounts intended to manipulate voting outcomes are prohibited (Community Guidelines §2.7)

If we learn that a user under 14 has signed up, the account and related data will be deleted immediately.

As long as the user complies with these Terms and related policies, they have the right to:

• Freely participate in Tournaments and Matches and cast votes
• Access their voting history, account information, and Crown Cards (vote-result cards)
• Terminate the account and request data deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy)
• File appeals against actions taken by us (Community Guidelines §8)

The user agrees to:

1. Comply with the Community Guidelines
2. Use the Service for its intended purpose (fan voting and support)
3. Not violate the rights or dignity of other users
4. Not manipulate outcomes using automation tools, bots, or multi-accounts
5. Own or hold proper rights to all content they submit (copyright, likeness rights, trademarks)
6. Not exploit security vulnerabilities or reverse-engineer the Service

5.1 Ownership

The copyright in user-submitted content (images, text, Tournament configurations, etc. — "User Content") remains with the user.

5.2 License

To operate the Service, the user grants WC48 the following license:

• Purpose: Providing, operating, promoting, analyzing, and backing up the Service
• Scope: Worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable
• Term: For as long as the User Content remains on the Service, plus backup and legally required retention periods

The license ends when the user deletes the content or terminates the account (except for data subject to legal retention obligations).

5.3 AI-generated content

• Crown Card: Automatically generated card images from user voting results — users may freely share them on social media or external channels
• AI-Report: AI-generated analysis and news content — the copyright belongs to WC48 (subject to the v2.4 "Footer-Only Lock" of the design system)

All prohibited content and conduct defined in Community Guidelines §2 is equally prohibited under these Terms. The following are considered material breaches:

• Sexual content involving minors (CSAM) — immediate permanent ban and legal reporting
• Linking Tournament outcomes to betting, gambling, or monetary trading
• Registering, synthesizing, or deepfaking another person's image without consent
• Vote manipulation through automation or multi-accounts
• Deliberately overloading the Service or exploiting security vulnerabilities

7.1 Moderation rights

WC48 may delete User Content or suspend/terminate accounts without prior notice in the following cases:

• Violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines
• Violation of law or a legitimate request from law enforcement
• Conduct that threatens the stability of the Service

Enforcement steps follow Community Guidelines §6.

7.2 User-initiated termination

Users may terminate their account at any time from account settings. Personal data is handled according to the Privacy Policy at termination.

• WC48 may change or discontinue parts or all of the Service; material changes will be announced at least 7 days in advance
• The Service may be temporarily suspended without prior notice for maintenance, emergency security patches, force majeure, or legal changes
• WC48's liability for damages caused by service interruptions is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law

• MVP 1 phase: All core features (voting, Tournament participation, Crown Card generation) are provided free of charge
• Paid features: If paid features are introduced, separate payment terms and refund policies will apply, with prior notice and consent
• Refunds: Refund rights under Korea's E-Commerce Act and the consumer-protection laws of the user's country of residence are respected

• WC48 does not warrant the accuracy, legality, or quality of User Content — Tournament configurations created by organizers are the organizer's responsibility
• WC48 is not obligated to mediate between users but will intervene when a violation is clearly present
• WC48 is not liable for damages caused by uncontrollable events such as force majeure, war, legal changes, or third-party service outages (Firebase, Vercel, Cloudflare)
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, WC48's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid to WC48 by the user in the preceding 12 months (or USD 100 if no amount was paid)

• Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea (mandatory consumer-protection rules of the user's country of residence take precedence where applicable)
• Jurisdiction: Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court at first instance
• EU residents: Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution (ODR) under the EU Digital Services Act is available
• Negotiation first: A 30-day good-faith negotiation through policy@worldcrown48.com is required before litigation

• These Terms may be updated due to legal changes, service expansion, or operating-policy changes
• Material changes will be announced at least 7 days before the effective date (30 days for changes unfavorable to users)
• Failure to object within a specified period after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms
